To truly bring the Yeokens to life, we transformed the otherwise digital-only loyalty points into physical objects using stop motion animation techniques. By creating custom props and 3D designs, we ensured that the online points became tangible, adding an exciting new dimension to Yeo Valley’s brand. The Yeo Valley team wanted to emphasize the playful nature of their loyalty program, so we gamified certain aspects by building a "Drop a Coin" game. This included a playful paper display and other fun elements, bringing the brand’s well-known wholesome and lived-in feel into the physical world. Our animation studio carefully crafted every detail to make banking Yeokens an engaging experience.
We received the digital design for the coins from the Yeo Valley team, which we then used to create a 3D model. It took several rounds of printing to achieve the perfect thickness for the coins, and we finally settled on 3mm. The intricate details on the design were carefully brought to life using a resin-based 3D printer—an ideal solution for precision in stop motion animation.
To capture the signature look, we first spray-painted the coins with a primer, followed by a custom yellow color, and finished them with black paint to bring out even the smallest details.
For the "Drop a Coin" game, we aimed to achieve a classic look that would evoke nostalgia for the viewer. The design was created in Illustrator, after which we laser-cut wooden boards, primed, glued, and painted them. The little wooden pegs added an authentic touch, enhancing the realism of the game, making it more than just a prop—it’s a functional piece. Yes, you can actually play with it!
Finally, the idea for the heart-shaped paper display came from a high-street window display. This feature allowed us to showcase brand colors, recognizable shapes, and all the benefits of banking a code. We designed the shapes and text outlines on the Cricut platform, letting the machine do the heavy lifting. We then hand-finished each heart for a personal touch. These carefully crafted elements helped bring the Yeo Valley loyalty program to life!
